Preschool Assistant Teacher

23-24 School Year Employment Initiative

To welcome you to our agency, full-time new employees hired after January 1st, 2024, will receive a $500 Retention Incentive after staying on our team until the end of the 23-24 school year.

Must remain full-time status until the conclusion of the 23-24 school year. Not applicable to substitutes. Not to be paired with our 2023 sign on initiative.

COVID Vaccination Update

As of April 7th, 2023, we are no longer requiring our employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19, nor are we requiring weekly COVID-19 testing for unvaccinated employees.

Position Overview

Manage general classroom operations in accordance with federal performance standards, state licensing rules and agency expectations in coordination with the classroom Teacher and other agency staff; ensure children’s safety at all times; provide for the physical, social, intellectual, emotional and cultural needs of each enrolled child, in partnership with parents; provide appropriate information and resources for families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Requirement

Meet one of the following:

  • Minimum of a valid preschool CDA credential; or
  • Be enrolled in a program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development to be completed within 4 years; or
  • Be enrolled in a preschool CDA credential program to be completed within 2 years.

And:

  • Must obtain CPR/First Aid within ninety days of hire.

Base Pay

  • $16.90 – $19.54

Hours & Location

  • Mon-Fri
    • Hours may vary, but should be similar to:
      Monday – Thursday [6:30am-3:30pm] and Friday [7:30am-11:30am] or
      Monday – Thursday [7:30am-4:30pm] and Friday [7:30am-11:30am]
